Rembrandt Peale

This is a painting of my favorite president. Unfortunately, we do not have photographs of people from this era so we do not know that this is exactly what he looked like, but we know that this is really, really close. One of the things that sells me on this painting is the emotion in his eyes. When I look at his eyes, I feel like he is looking into my soul....that he knows things about me that others don't know. The lines on his face help promote the feeling of emotion within the painting. This painting is a very telling painting of our third president

Monet

This is one of my favorite paintings. I don't claim to be an expert in the field of art, but I know what I like and what I don't like. This one has always made me feel calm.

I like the brightness of the greens and yellows. And I often wonder who crosses that bridge? What is on the other sides of the bridge? Is it close to a town? What are the sounds of the stream? Are there bullfrogs singing their bass songs? Songbirds sweetly singing in the trees? Is the water always calm or does it ripple? Oh the questions I can asked based on a small portion of the whole picture.
